After co-founding RISE Kombucha and an organic vegan restaurant chain, Crudessence, David embarked on a new mission: to save rejected food items of the industry by co-founding LOOP Mission. Julie left everything behind to co-found LOOP Mission with him after leading many companies' green initiatives. Julie and David are the first duo to have emerged from the Dragon's Den and return as guest Dragons themselves.

At LOOP Mission, they save fruits and veggies that are rejected because they don't have the proper shape, size or a shelf life that is not long enough to survive the distribution cycle. LOOP Mission transforms them into cold pressed juices, sour beers made with day old bread, a gin made with potato cuttings from a potato chips company, and soaps made with rejected cooking oil and probiotic sodas that give a second life to the by-products of the essential oil industry. Since the company was founded in 2016, it has saved more than 5,388 tons of food, avoided the emission of 4,351 tons of GHGs, and saved more than 415 million liters of water.

LOOP Mission reached the semi-final round of the Government of Canada’s Food Waste Reduction Challenge and won $100,000.
