He is an interdisciplinary, problem-oriented sustainability scientist, trained in ecology, policy, and ethics from Princeton and Stanford Universities. His mission for his work and with his students at the CHANS lab (Connecting Human and Natural Systems) at UBC is to understand how social-ecological systems can be transformed to be both better and wilder — today and into the future. Kai was the coordinating lead author for the Pathways and Solutions chapter of the recent ‘UN biodiversity report’ (aka the Global Assessment Report on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services).

Keynote Responding Panel: Are We On Track to Create a Circular Future? | 10:45 am PST

http://www.zwc.ca/archive/2021/speakers/SpeakersPhoto2021/KaiChan.jpg, http://www.zwc.ca/archive/2021/speakers/SpeakersPhoto2021/KaiChan.jpgGP0|#1232677e-9b17-4dd0-b4fd-bbff48186cf5;L0|#01232677e-9b17-4dd0-b4fd-bbff48186cf5|Kai Chan;GTSet|#c31bcefc-bba8-4775-8a91-82f54b19d6e1;GPP|#3499e05c-49cf-47f1-9ac7-e17073eabf4cKaiChan
